About Us

Our journey started over 20 years ago when we frequently traveled to the Appalachian Mountains for family vacations. We loved the simple natural living of the area and decided to purchase land in order to build not only our own dream home but to provide an opportunity to share our dream with others.  "Living within Nature" - away from big cities and stresses,  we strive to create a community for spiritual and physical renewal, and healing of our minds, body, and soul. Although we did not build early on during the great recession, and the financial meltdown in 2007 and 2008, we never lost our dream. Today more than ever,  we need a place for peace and tranquility. Our homes are energy efficient, practical, low maintenance required, and are built with an engineered energy-efficient building envelope, close to net-zero energy consumption. Our community will be a place for happiness and enjoyment for generations to come. 

Gunter and Liisa Freystaetter are the proud parents of five children and seven grandchildren. Our family are all outdoors enthusiasts, enjoying hiking, fishing, kayaking and all types of sport activities,  unwinding in unspoiled nature. We love spending time with family and friends. This is what we call our home - the unspoiled nature in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, and it is here where we have discovered a spiritual renewal and where we   

create lifetime memories with bonfires and watching the starlit skies –and build our family legacy.
